Mr. Carlos Slim receives the Peace Summit Award for the altruistic and peace-building initiatives he has performed through social supports and programs addressing diverse social sectors.

During the 19th World Summit of Nobel Laureates for Peace, held on September 18 to 21, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Eng. Carlos Slim Helú, President-for-Life of Carso Group, received the Peace Summit Award.
This prize granted to Mr. Slim, honors his dedication to philanthropy, and all of his supports and contributions to Mexico and Latin America through his multiple foundations, with assistance and programs targeted to different social sectors.
This honorary award is presented by Nobel Laureates for Peace to a personality in the culture and entertainment scenes, outstanding for defending human rights, and disseminating peace and solidarity principles.
When accepting the award, Eng. Slim said, “I’m very grateful for receiving this recognition from the dearest and most admired Nobel Prize Winners, the work of whom has paved the road for many others who are working for peace and justice. They inspire me to remain committed, trusting that change is possible, and believing that the search for peace, justice and freedom is a collective endeavor. It is a real privilege for me to continue playing a small part of this huge effort. Thank you very much for the great honor I’m receiving in this Summit. I’m grateful for your attentions and learnings I’ve achieved in it. Thank you all”.
