Eng. Carlos Slim Helú received the “Juan Sánchez Navarro Award”, granted by the Mexican Business Coordinating Council, for His Work in Favor of the Development of Mexico.

Framed within the 48° Anniversary of the Business Coordinating Council (Consejo Coordinador Empresarial) (CCE), the “Juan Sánchez Navarro Award” was granted to Eng. Carlos Slim Helú, founder of América Móvil and the Carso Group, for his work in favor of the development of Mexico.

Francisco Cervantes, CCE’s President, said that this is a recognition for the values-based legacy built by Mr. Slim Helú. “His love for Mexico has contributed significantly to the development of this country, and we honor his admirable work with this Award, which is granted for the first time, framed within our 48° Anniversary,” he added.

In the event, Alejandro Malagón Barragán, leader of industrial businessmen members of the Mexican Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Confederación Nacional de Cámaras Industriales) (CONCAMIN), highlighted the talent of Mr. Slim to identify opportunities and transform key sectors such as telecommunications and infrastructure. “His approach to create social value, together with his business initiatives, have strengthened the national economy and improved the life quality of countless families,” he expressed.

The Awarding ceremony was attended by Antonio del Valle Ruiz, founder of Grupo Kaluz; Juan Sánchez Navarro, Member of the Administrative Council of Grupo Península; Juan Ramón de la Fuente, future Secretary of Foreign Affairs and responsible for the governmental transition of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo; Ken Salazar, US Ambassador in Mexico; and Francisco Cervantes Díaz, President of the CCE.
