Mr. Carlos Slim took part as a guest of honor and speaker in the act of acknowledgment to Emergent Leaders of the Puerto Rico’s College of Engineers and Surveyors (CIAPR in Spanish) during the Conference & Expo Meeting CIAPR 2010 in Puerto Rico. August 5, 2010. Puerto Rico.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Slim stated his own view about Public-Private Alliances by underlying that the economic future of countries depends upon them. He also emphasized the importance of private investment as essential to the economy of any country.
To the acknowledged Emergent Leaders of the Puerto Rico’s College of Engineers and Surveyors, Mr. Slim said: well-done work is not only an individual and social responsibility; it is also an emotional need. At the end we pass away by carrying nothing with us, just leaving behind our own work, family, friends, and, perhaps, a positive influence.”
Mr. Miguel A. Torres Diaz, president of CIAPR, expressed his gratefulness to Mr. Carlos Slim because of his participation in the act.
