Mr. Carlos Slim Helu received the ESADE award in recognition of his philanthropic and entrepreneurial management, during the XIV Annual Celebration ESADE Alumni, Barcelona.

Mr. Carlos Slim Helu received the recognition by hands of Pedro Fontana, Chairman of the ESADE Foundation Board of Trustees, German Castrejon, Chairman of the ESADE Alumni, and Xavier Sanchez, Director of ESADE Alumni, in the ESADE Business School, campus Barcelona, Spain
During the event, Mr. Carlos Slim delivered the lecture “Economic and Social Perspectives in Latin America” jointly with the economist Javier Santiso, Director of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) Development Center. Marcel Planellas, ESADE General Secretary and member of the ESADE Alumni Board of Directors, conducted the ceremony.
During the lecture in the ESADE Business School, Mr. Slim insisted about his concern in relation to the development of the employment as the crucial and gravest matter of the existing crisis. He explained that “the best asset to overcome the existing crisis is to fight poverty”, and added “it is only with education and employment the way we can succeed”.
