Mr. Carlos Slim and Mr. Ángel Aguirre Rivero, Governor of the state of Guerrero, did attend the initial building work of the Acapulco's Macro-Tunnel, to be the biggest in México.

The Acapulco's Macro Tunnel, projected to be 3.3 km long, will be the biggest one in México, and will serve as an alternate via to link Icacos Zone and Acapulco Diamante. Work's investment will amount 3,500 million pesos and will create both one thousand direct and four thousand indirect jobs.
The Acapulco's Macro Tunnel is conceived to be just a part of an eight km-long via to be finished in the next two years for the benefit of more than 650,000 residents and visitors.
Mr. Slim stressed that the work total investment will count for the biggest in the state of Guerrero in the last twenty years, and it will include the longest Macro Tunnel in México, 3.3 km long, a challenge for the Mexican engineering.
He also underlined that investments like this will attract both inhabitants and tourists to enjoy Acapulco's allure, and will create bigger economic benefits.
